Healthy Granola Recipe

Recipe Card_edited-1

I love granola! That sweet, salty taste and crunchy texture are truly addictive. Unfortunately, most granola is loaded with sugar and isn’t the most healthy snack choice. So I got to thinking, why not make my own healthy granola?

This Healthy Granola Recipe is made with oats, pecans, sunflower seeds, coconut oil and plenty of other nutritious ingredients. The spices add a nice sweet flavor boost to replace some of the sweetener in most granola recipes. It’s delicious and totally munchable! My kids absolutely loved it and I feel good about eating it as a snack or with milk in the morning for breakfast.

I know you’ll love it too! Give it a try, it’s easy.

    • Hi Debbie! Thanks for stopping by. I was excited to try this healthy granola recipe and was happy to find that the small amount of sweetener I used was plenty. By adding raisins you get a natural form of sweetness and the spices add depth of flavor. I hope you and your family enjoy!

  2. Yum! I love granola but I’ve always just bought it already made (yes, I’m lazy!) but I must admit this looks a lot healthier than the processed version!

    • Hi Emma. I’m a granola lover too, but most store bought granola is loaded with added sugar. I limited the sweetener and used raisins (which are naturally sweet). The best part is that it was easy to make. My kids love it too!

  6. This sounds great except for one minor thing – I was showing it to my wife so she could make it and she reminded me of the fact that my son is allergic to several kinds of peanuts and seeds.
This kid of mine is even allergic to wood and grass – it makes enjoying certain foods very difficult.

But thanks for the post, maybe we can find a work around.

    • My son has allergies too, so I totally understand. The great thing about granola, is you can make it however you want. Just eliminate the nuts and seeds. Find an organic oatmeal and add your favorite dried fruit. Let me know how it turns out. 🙂
