Power Green Tea Smoothie

My family and I have become huge fans of juicing lately. While juicing is great, some fruit is best blended because you get to consume the entire fruit.

This Power Green Tea Smoothie recipe uses a combination of fresh juice from the juicer and whole fruit with almond milk and Greek yogurt for added protein and calcium. If you’re vegan, just omit the yogurt for a delicious vegan smoothie.

[yumprint-recipe id=’5′]This is a simple recipe that makes a great on-the-go breakfast. The ingredients make it a power packed smoothie filled with antioxidants, potassium, calcium and a variety of natural vitamins. If you don’t have a juicer, you can use natural apple juice as a substitute and blend the spinach with the other ingredients.

As with all recipes, be creative! Substitute ingredients you have on hand for a unique, personalized touch.

Here’s a link to the Organic Matcha Green Tea powder I prefer to use. It’s USDA certified organic and it’s perfect for culinary endeavors.

  1. Sounds tasty! I always see these smoothies with spinach in them and while I would never eat it on its own, I think you probably couldn’t even taste it in a smoothie.

    • It’s especially true if you juice the spinach with other fruit. That way there’s not even a trace of the actual leaf itself. It was a delicious smoothie and the green tea makes it full of healthy anti-oxidants. YUM! Thanks for commenting.

  3. That actually looks really yummy. One of my favorite things is green tea because of the health benefits, but I haven’t ever had it in a smoothie!

    • I agree Farah, green tea is loaded with wonderful health benefits. The cool thing about this smoothie is that it’s made with Matcha Green Tea powder, which is a more concentrated form of green tea. Not to mention, it’s delicious! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I never would have thought to add the spinach in there with all the fruit, but what a great way to add some iron!

    • It is delicious Ana! I try to sneak spinach in when I make my kids juice from the juicer as well. Simple way to add extra vitamins.
