TheTideline Wooden Baby Spoons

I love supporting small businesses this time of year. It makes me feel good to purchase products from Mom and Pop shops, artists who work hard to support themselves and companies that care about the environment. I also enjoy giving unique, handmade gifts to friends and family at Christmas. Honestly, Iā€™m a little addicted to Etsy, especially over that Holidays! šŸ˜‰ So, when Chris from TheTideline reached out to me about his handmade wooden products, I was thrilled to write a review. To make this even more exciting, Chris generously offered to give away one of his lovely handmade spoons. But first, let’s talk about TheTideline Wooden Baby Spoons. LOVE!

Chris Axling is the mastermind behind TheTideline. He’s a carpenter with the soul of an artist. He’s also a father of two under five and a wannabe author. As a passionate small business owner, he creates true works of art with beautiful, natural wood. In his Etsy shop, you’ll find everything from handmade Driftwood Bowls to Wooden Spoons and Bath Caddies

Chris sources the trees used in his handmade products from neighbors and locals who have had trees chopped down out of necessity.  He makes large cooking spoons and many of the baby spoons are made from the left over wood from the cooking spoons.  He strives to utilize his wood resources to the fullest. Chris’ products are made entirely by hand; from sectioning trees, to hand sanding, and rubbing in a beeswax mixture and mineral oil, which he also sells in his shop.  He even offers a no stain option.

My Experience with TheTideline Wooden Baby Spoons

TheTideline Wooden Baby Spoons

I really love the natural look of the wood, and the beautiful colors and designs of TheTideline wooden spoons. The curvature of the handle make them easy to hold and use. They fit great in both parent and child’s hand.  The wide handles make them sturdy enough for my daughter to hold and control as she navigates learning to feed herself.  Chris also provided a longer handled spoon with the same wide based handle for feeding younger babies.  These spoons have a quality feel in your hand. Some wooden spoons are thin, wispy and breakable, but not TheTideline spoons.

Receiving baby spoons from TheTideline was an enlightening and enjoyable experience. They arrived in a recyclable cardboard box, packed with care in wood shavings with a ribbon. It was a delightful presentation and I love that it included recyclable material!  The wood spoons are truly beautiful and the finishes are well done, allowing the wood grain of the spoons to really shine.  My little girl loves the shorter baby spoon.  It’s easy for her to use, and she seems to prefer it over the other baby spoons we have.  I think the shape of the handle of the length allow her maximum functionality and comfort.  The longer spoon style is perfect for parents with smaller babies not yet feeding themselves.   It would serve as a great gift or a treat for yourself!
