Happy Monkey Soaps Review

I love supporting small businesses this time of year. It makes me feel good to purchase products from Mom and Pop shops, artists who work hard to support themselves and companies that care about the environment. I also enjoy giving unique, handmade gifts to friends and family at Christmas. Honestly, I’m a little addicted to Etsy, especially over that Holidays! 😉 So, when I discovered Happy Monkey Soaps I offered to write a review about the products. What’s even more exciting is that Andrea, the shop owner, offered to let me host an exclusive giveaway of her products. Now that’s a true holiday gift, if you ask me!

Happy Monkey Soaps

*Disclosure: I purchased the products in this review. All opinions expressed are 100% mine. The products included in the giveaway are being graciously provided by Happy Monkey Soaps. No other compensation was received.

About Happy Monkey Soaps

Andrea DelosReyes is the owner and creative genius behind Happy Monkey Soaps. After journeying through different professions and passions, Andrea came to realize her life is about creative adaptability. Her education is in art/art history. She also studied chemistry and science, hoping to apply it to art conservation and restoration. After having her own two beautiful “little monkeys” she became a stay-at-home mom. Her passion for creativity never waned and she decided to use her background to create the inspiring products at Happy Monkey Soaps.

Andrea’s art and chemistry background gave her inspiration for crafting beautiful soaps. Each product from Happy Monkey Soaps are thoughtfully created using materials that work well together, are healthy for the skin, and are good for the environment. In addition to creating beautiful, soothing products, Andrea is also dedicated to making only palm oil free soaps. The destruction of rainforests in SouthEast Asia in order to make room for palm oil plantations is wreaking havoc on the habitat and existence of the great apes – orangutans – and other animal species. Happy Monkey Soaps will always be palm oil free to reduce consumption of this product and to help retain the remaining orangutan habitat. Orangutans are great apes, rather than monkeys, but Happy Monkey Soaps sounded more fun!

My Experience with Happy Monkey Soaps

When Andrea told me she recently started making face and body scrubs, I couldn’t wait to try them. I’m a self-proclaimed scrub addict and enthusiast. I also love soothing salves and balms, so I added that to my purchase. Let’s talk about all the amazing treats I ordered from Happy Monkey Soaps

Invigorating Tangerine Sugar Scrub

Body scrubs are a “must-have” in the shower. I don’t feel clean and refreshed without a full scrub down. So, of course, this was one I had to try! The Invigorating Tangerine Sugar Scrub stood up to it’s name. The scent is fresh, bright and invigorating. I love the happy yellow color and the gentle exfoliation from the fine grain sugar and sea salt. The sweet almond oil left my skin lightly moisturized, so there was no need for a lotion or body butter after my shower. Just how I like it! 😀

Brown Sugar Orange Facial Scrub

Although I’m a scrub junkie, I’ve never used a sugar scrub on my face. So I was curious about the yummy sounding Brown Sugar Orange Facial Scrub. It literally smells like a dessert, so I had to refrain from putting it in my mouth! 😉 The fine grain sugar and sea salt really gave my face a thorough scrub. It also left my skin feeling silky soft and moisturized. I definitely recommend rinsing until the oils have melted away, just leaving a light layer of moisture to absorb into your skin. Since I have sensitive skin, I’ve been using this one once a week to remove dead skin cells and leave my skin looking bright and fresh.

Lavender and Lemon Dry Skin Balm

I was interested in the Lavender and Lemon Dry Skin Balm from Happy Monkey Soaps because my youngest son tends to get eczema this time of year. I also find some dry patches on my skin that need a little extra TLC in the colder months. This balm is really perfect for extra dry skin. It also works great as a lip balm! 😉 It’s silky smooth and a little goes a long way.

Tropical Island Paradise Soap

Andrea was gracious enough to send me a free sample of her beautiful handmade soap. It really is a work of art. As soon as my oldest son Zach took one look at this soap, he claimed it as his. The smell is really delicious and I did get a chance to use it once before it was taken by Zach. This soap lathers nicely and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean.
