Sweet and Salty Edamame

I recently discovered the only green vegetable my 5 year old will eat is Edamame. That’s cool, I guess. I always enjoy a fresh bowl of steamed Edamame. I was recently introduced to Mowhawk Valley Trading Company. They offer some of the finest raw honey you can buy. I’m totally in love! Their delicious Orange Blossom Honey is what inspired this addictive Sweet and Salty Edamame Recipe.

Sweet and Salty Edamame

If you’ve only ever tried that processed honey from the plastic bear, you’re seriously missing out. My family was literally taking tiny scoops straight from the jar and indulging in the grainy sweetness of this natural raw honey. It’s majorly delicious and addictive. When I added it to my steamed, salted Edamame I couldn’t stop eating it. I compare this recipe to those salty, sweet nuts you get during the holidays. DELICIOUS!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  • Steam Edamame according to package directions
  • Pour Edamame into a medium sized bowl
  • Add Honey & Sea Salt to Edamame while they’re steaming hot
  • Stir until the honey is melted and coats the beans completely
  • Enjoy!

How to Eat Edamame:

If you’ve never tried Edamame before, they’re really easy to make and eat! Just pick up the Edamame by the end with the little stem and pinch it between your thumb and forefinger. Then using your teeth pop the Edamame beans out the smooth end and into your mouth. You will get plenty of salt and honey this way.

I’m sure you’ll be addicted after trying this recipe, just like my family. Maybe you can even get your picky eater to try these addictive Sweet and Salty Edamame. Trust me, my 5 year old is about as picky as it gets and he devours these every time I make them!
