Keep My Kids Safe

Keep My Kids Safe

How do I keep my kids safe? That’s a question many parents ask themselves. You know as well as I do, there are bad people in this world. There are people who want to hurt children. It’s a sad but indisputable fact. As parents, it’s our job to empower our children to make good decisions.

Learn more about my method by reading my Stranger Safety Article.

Keep My Kids Safe

I would do anything to protect my kids!

My Method

One thing I know for sure is that YOU MUST discuss stranger safety with your kids. It’s a difficult topic. There’s no doubt about it. But wouldn’t you rather discuss it at the dinner table and bring your kids home safe every day? I know I would. I will do whatever it takes to keep my kids safe.

There’s a great DVD series called “The Safe Side”. It was created by John Walsh from America’s Most Wanted and Julie Clark, the creator of Baby Einstein. These DVDs’ are a perfect way to open a discussion about safety with your kids. One focuses on Stranger Safety and the other teaches Internet safety.

It’s important to watch these videos with your kids. Then discuss the movies. The videos aren’t scary. As a matter of fact, they’re pretty funny and silly while teaching important lessons. These are lessons every child and parent should learn!

My Family’s Safety

My family’s safety is a top priority for me. As a Mom, I would do anything to protect my kids. I regularly discuss stranger safety with my kids using the methods I learned in The Safe Side videos. It’s not something you talk about once or twice. It needs to be an ongoing discussion.

Teaching kids Stranger Safety is a passion of mine. I’ve taken these movies to schools and taught Stranger Safety tactics to Elementary school kids and pre-school kids. Now, I want to pass it on to you.

Do this for me, please. Talk to your kids about strangers and about being safe on the internet. Read my previous article about Stranger Safety to learn more about the topic. I give details about the video and how to talk to your kids. It’s so important!

In order to help you start protecting your family, I am offering a great Giveaway. It’s a complete Family Safety Pack.

This is not a sponsored post. I was not given these items as part of any review. I know it’s important to protect the children in our lives, and this is my gift to you.

  2. I agree parents need to talk to their kids about stranger safety, especially over the internet. It’s all too common for young kids to have laptops, tablets, and smartphones with unfiltered internet access. Sadly, bad stuff can happen to these kids without their parents talking to them about these things as well as monitoring their devices.

    • Exactly! If kids know the truth, they are safer. There are so many ways for kids to “go online” these days. From phones, to tablets to computers. We need to educate and empower them, for sure. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Each year our local PTA partners with the State Attorney General’s office does a workshop on Internet Safety. It’s important to educate kids and their parents and this sounds like a great way to do so.

  4. I agree that it is very important to talk to your child about who to talk to and who not to. Each day after school I always remind her that if someone talks to you, just tell them you do not talk to strangers and walk away. Even when I pick her up from school in the car, I always tell her to walk to the front of the car, to see it if is really mommy or daddy, because you never know what can happen on any day. I think the DVD is absolutely great and I will definitely consider it. We all want to keep our kids safe. Thanks for such a wonderful post.
