Organic Sunshine: About Us

Dinnertime confessions

About Me

My name is Nicole. I’m a loving wife and boy Mom. Living with 4 guys (my husband and 3 sons) has taught me a lot about dirt, grime and laughter.

Having a family has truly changed me for the better. My kids remind me every day to slow down and enjoy life. My husband makes me believe in true love!

With so much love in my heart, I started paying close attention to all the stressors in our lives and the scary ingredients in products we were using around our home. I was concerned, to say the least. It was time to “detox our lives!”

Now we only use whole foods, products made with natural ingredients and essential oils. These little changes made a HUGE impact on our quality of life.

About Organic Sunshine

This blog is a piece of my heart! I’m passionate about creating compelling articles with attractive “pin worthy” graphics. Organic Sunshine has been a doorway to my soul and a path to meeting some of the most incredible entrepreneur’s and kind-hearted people in the blogosphere.

My History & Background

I’ll be honest, I’m just a regular mom with a zest for life and a passion for creativity. I’ve learned so much about myself and life since starting this blog. I’m so very blessed! So, thanks for reading and supporting my crazy dream.

Over the past few years I made a huge life transition from business woman to stay-at-home mom.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit, this whole stay-at-home Mom thing didn’t come naturally to me. I had many bumpy months trying to find my way and become comfortable with it. For the 10 years prior to becoming a full-time Mom & Wife, I had a high-stress career in the healthcare industry. I worked with adult cancer patients for the first two years and then with childhood cancer patients for the last 8 years of my career.

Working with cancer patients is a truly enlightening experience. I came to the realization that cancer patients and those faced with life limiting illness sincerely learn how to enjoy life’s every moment.

Enjoy all the sunsets.

Say “I love you”.

Spend time with those you love.

Grow a garden.

Create something beautiful.

Smell the flowers.

I was truly enlightened by the lovely cancer patients I met along the way, but I was so busy in my career and trying to keep my household running, I never really took time to enjoy life. In a way, my occupation defined me.

I realize now how important it is to find proper balance between your home life and career. Find something you love to do, something you’re passionate about. Enjoy the little moments day-to-day. Spend time with your family, feed your soul. Live the life you love! 🙂

  4. Hello Nicole,
I am starting an educational company for young children everywhere and I came across your AWESOME blog. We are BamBoost and we need your help. We are a social enterprise dedicated to increasing the quality of life for people living in urban slums through affordable bamboo fiber health and hygiene products, and early education for young children. We are a team competing in this year’s Hult Prize Competition, which is Bill Clinton’s annual social entrepreneurship competition. Every year, Mr. Clinton proposes a world challenge to solve, which is usually associated with the slums of the world. This year, the theme of the competition is to figure out how to educate ten million young children under the age of six, in urban slums, by the year 2020. We are one of the top ten teams out of over 20,000 applicants this year. Here is the link for the online challenge: http://www.hultprize.org/en/compete/online-challenge-2015/overview/
Our solution to this year’s challenge is to introduce bamboo fiber health and hygiene products to urban slum communities, as well as age-appropriate curriculum books. We have learned that people living in urban slums are making only $3-5 per day, but are spending more than $20 on diapers and sanitary pads per month. By introducing bamboo fiber products to slum communities, we will reduce that monthly cost to $3. Every month, parents will be able to buy $3 packages, which consist of bamboo fiber diapers, bamboo fiber sanitary pads, and a monthly age appropriate curriculum book for young children. There will be enough quantity of products to last a month, and the monthly curriculum books will work on developmental milestones that are specific to the exact age of the child.
In order to continue with our journey with the Hult Prize and make it to the top six final round of the competition, we need your help. We have launched an IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign and need to have a successful campaign in order to continue with our journey. If possible, we’d like for you to publicize our campaign on your blog so that your readers will be aware of our campaign and potentially contribute. Here is the link for you to check out our campaign: igg.me/at/bamboost
The rewards for contributing to our campaign are as follows:
    Bamboo Seeds
Three Month Supply of Bamboo Fiber Diaper Liners for You and a Family in a Slum
Six Month Supply of Bamboo Fiber Diaper Liners for You and a Family in a Slum
Beautiful and Refillable Bamboo Notebook with Name Laser-Engraved
Beautiful Educational Bamboo Toy Package for Children Age 0-6
By launching a successful campaign, we will be able to move on to the finals round of the competition and move one step closer to our goal of impacting millions of children living in urban slums.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look over this e-mail.

    Looking forward to your reply,
    BamBoost

  5. Hi

I’m the marketing manager of a start-up called Childhud. In the past months we realized that families, especially mothers, do not have an easy option when it comes to sharing precious moments of their kids with family. We consider reliving childhood as a very important aspect to all mothers around the world. That is what drove us to create a new app called Childhud and to launch it on an international level.

We were very impressed with your blog and are very much interested in advertising with you. Could you kindly let me know how much it would cost to have an advert with you; a banner or maybe an article, etc?

I thank you in advance for your time and consideration and invite you to like us on https://www.facebook.com/childhudapp?fref=ts

    Best regards,

    Marie-Clare Church

  6. Hi Nicole,

I was hoping to connect with you to discuss a new revenue opportunity for your site.

My company helps content publishers like yourself monetize their site in user-friendly ways that complement the existing advertising efforts you already have.

Our brand profile also skews heavily female/mom-focused – sounds like a perfect fit for your audience!

I’d love to tell you a bit more about how it works (side note: it’s 100% free, there is no cost associated with our services) and of course hear your thoughts.

Could we jump on a call this week? Let me know, thanks!

    Best,
    Christian
